About
I have been designing and creating websites for several years and, in this time, have developed a clear understanding of what 'works', and what doesn't.
I believe cross-browser compatibility is key, as it can significantly increase your website audience. If you consider that 74% of internet users¹ use Internet Explorer and an ever increasing 18% use Mozilla Firefox; it is easy to see how much larger your audience could be if your website works on multiple browsers. Similarly, I create all my websites so they work with different screen resolutions; for that same reason.
I also believe that accessibility is very important, as it allows people, who are not fully able, to use your website (this may be because they have special software and/or hardware). Making a website more accessible can be as simple as making the text size easy to increase and using access keys or as complex as making an entirely audio-based website for very partially-sighted and blind people.
I make all of my websites using valid XHTML 1.0 and valid CSS (unless the client requires otherwise); this makes websites more accessible and more optimised for Search Engines; so your website will be listed above others, guaranteeing more visitors.
No two clients can ever have exactly the same requirements; so all my services are individually tailored to suit the clients needs and specifications. Similarly, clients have a large range of different amounts of technical knowledge, so I will always explain everything in as little or as much detail as you personally require.
